My YouTube is about to get a new video showing how I made my 1 st Christmas card featuring Stampin Up and my HERO product of the moment…Windsor & Newton Iridescent Medium. I’ve left a link to Amazon below if you want to try this amazing product yourself.
As you can see on a dark background like I used, the medium gives so much sparkle and shine it’s unreal! It can also be added as a wash over translucent watercolours to give a more subtle sheen. But as it’s Christmas card season there’s never a better time for BLING!
To create my cards I used precut 5x7 white card bases and mat and layered in alternating colours from navy blue to white. I left around 1/16th of an inch frame for the white layer.
I punched out some stars on the white top layer and saved them for another project. This punch co-ordinates with the *Stars are Shining* stamp set from Stampin up. I then painted the Iridescent medium on the navy card behind the star cut outs. I used a dry paint brush for this. Next I stuck the white layer on he navy mat with tonic studios glue runner. For the stamped sentiment I used Be Merry and Bright from the same stamp set using Paris Dusk Memento ink to match the navy blue and white theme of my card.
Mounting with again, a mat and layer effect and using foam tape I completed my card by attaching the sentiment and punching and gluing some tiny stars from navy card painted with the HERO medium and some glue to stick them on.
